What are you reading at the moment?

Needing "pick up and put down" books right now, and so I've just started an old Stephen King book bought at a book sale - it's an old one that I missed somehow and it's called 'Dolores Claibourne'. Only read a few pages but it seems quite different.

After pushing through few Frank Herbert's (for those who liked Dune I recommend Direct Descent) for last two months, I'll be taking a long break from books and stick to comics.
Right now been reading Alien Legion (from Marvel's Epic imprint in 80's) and I've got a real treat waiting next: the first Corto Maltese story "Ballad from the Salt Sea".

I've never read any King (nor much any other horror), but I've seen the Dolores Claibourne movie.

Despite of doing great deal of Batman along years I hvaen't read that one. Do tell if it's good.

I've started reading The Angel of History. It's about a German philosopher called Walter Benjamin. The book is well written, but I probably would appreciate it more if I actually had heard of Walter Benjamin before.

Serious history for serious exams in about 7 weeks, if I disappear for hours at a time - you will know it is time to prepare for the last of the final exams.
Apart from Donald Kagan's book on various opinions about why the Roman Empire collapsed, I'll be reading really ancient work like Xenophon for example. So please feel really sorry for me - weeks of late nights and early mornings ahead.

I read WAS by Geoff Ryman over the weekend. A very good book which I recommend. It's inspired by the Wizard of Oz. Here's a link to a critic bout the book, and I couldn't put it better:

Need to revive this thread so I'm going to make it sticky - who's reading what these days?

I've just started "Second Glance" by Jodi Picoult, and will do a review in the book club section when I've finished it.
