What tree do you miss most?
It's always sad when a tree that's been around for decades is removed.
Is there some particular you miss?
Having lived in same place practically all my life, there's been some that I'd see from windows for 20 or 30 years (or some still existing that have been here longer than I).
A linden was for long in corner of front yard.
There was a little rowan, a crooked thing, almost a bush, but alive enough to make berries each year.
And in our cabin, couple of major trees have been removed at some point, most notably a great birch that towered over the house.

We had dozens of blue gums growing on the island in the dam over the road from our house, and a couple of years ago there was a drive to get rid of so called alien trees, so they were removed and ring barked, leaving us with a few dead trunks to look at. Seriously affected our bird life and the scenery, and I still think it was a ridiculous decision. There are forests and forests of them all around us!!

Sadly this morning was removed a great spruce that has been part of my scenery for all my life.

That's horrible - they take so long to grow, and do so much for us. If they remove a tree do they replace it?

No, I don't expect them to add anything.
There's willow shrubs around there that'll take over, unless somebody decides to wipe them out.
