Estonian parliamentary election 2019

Result (%/seats/change):

Reform Party (liberal right) 28.8/34/+4
Centre Party 23.1/26/-1
Conservative People's Party (populist right) 17.8/19/+12
Pro Patria (conservative) 11.4/12/-2
Social Democratic Party 9.8/10/-5

Notable points:
- rise of populist right has reached Estonia
- Centre lost prime minister post, but may continue in power joining Reform
- center-right Free Party fell out of parliament (had 8 seats before)
- new liberal party Estonia 200 got 4.5%, barely failing the 5% threshold required for seats
- Reform leader Kaja Kallas is likely to be first woman as Estonian prime minister; current president Kersti Kaljulaid is also first woman in the office

Re: Estonian parliamentary election 2019

In somewhat surprising move, Centre, CPP and Pro Patria have agreed on forming a center-right government, with Centre prime minister Ratas continuing in office - leaving largest party and election winner Reform to opposition.

This marks change towards a clear two-bloc system, parties divided to Right and Left.
