Distracted Driving
Many cars now have bluetooth to cell phone, yet it appears distracted driving is STILL a problem because there are people who just plain stubbornly prefer to text, and people taking photos and videos while they are driving.
I have been hit by one distracted driver while in slow, stop and go traffic. My daughter, who has to commute to work, has been hit FIVE times, and she knows at least three of those accidents were definitely caused by someone on their phone.
In her first car she was never hit. In her second car she was hit twice. In her third car she has been hit three times. So if we use my daughter's statistics, the problem of phone distraction while driving appears to be getting worse.

Re:
Wow! That's pretty awful. I use Siri when I'm driving, to make calls, reply to messages, so it's just a matter of speaking. People should just be penalised by their insurers when they cause accidents while using their phones. It will soon stop if people lose their insurance.

Re: Distracted Driving
A coupile of days ago I went out of town with my neighbour to pick up something. He drove, so I got to look around. I saw six people looking at their phones while driving, in less than one hour of driving. Later I saw a police officer using his computer while he was driving. He had to keep stopping in the lane. If I was doing that, he would have charged me! Well it is just as dangerous when they do it.

Testing while driving is even worse - or just as bad.

Re:
I don't understand why people don't learn to use their phones. It's so easy. Just say Siri, call Barry, and Siri responds and calls. Or Siri text Barry, and dictate, and it's done. It's not rocket science using these phones yet people still insist they need their fingers, or like my husband, pieces of paper.
