]Finland wants to give all citizens, rich or poor, a monthly payment

Not as stupid as it sounds, I'm curious to see how that'd work.
For me at least, better than current system...

Estimates say that 2019 there will be more female priests in Finland than male.
I wonder if that's the situation in other Nordics or anywhere else.

We're having number of party conventions at this time of year and several parties are changing leaders at this point (no elections this year).
Most notably, the main right Coalition Party replaced - through quite a power struggle - a former prime minister as it's leader, who kind of automatically right now holds position of minister of state treasury.
Some of parties are already deciding presidential candidates for 2018 (which is likely pointless because Niinistö will almost certainly be re-elected if he wants).

A study on 26 countries shows that Finns trust in news media more than anyone else. Surprising thing is how big difference there is to others including Sweden: in Finland 60% of people say they find news reliable while in Sweden (one of highest) only 40% do.
One reason may be long time political bipartisan division of Sweden.

Not much, very mild overall. Since our main Euro-critic is now foreign minister, he's had to tone down his comments a lot (if he wants his party to stay in government).
We mostly see it as bad news, but there aren't many doomsayers ranting yet. Nor, mostly for reason above, people calling out for own referendum.

There's speculation about who might be next to leave and it surprises me that foreign medias mention Finland as one of top options. I really can't see that happening. Sweden and Denmark may be in difficult position now because they are the only old/western members with their own currency. Having UK as big non-€ EU member made that easier, but now they're on their own.

The good news for Finland today is that a Finn got Nobel Prize - only fourth ever.
Of course technically the economics isn't one of the "real" Prizes but "Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel"... but we'll take it.

One of the most scandalous and absurd court cases in Finland (at least during my lifetime) has reached a verdict (which will likely be appealed).

Former head of police's narcotics division, who previously has been convicted to 3 years for corruption, now got 10 years for various things including being involved with large drug business.
The colorful story has involved such turn of event as +50,000€ being found buried in his front yard.

It's been quite a shock that one of highest police officials has turned out not only utterly corrupt, but actually working with organized crime in the very thing he was responsible of.
But on the positive, he got caught.

This winter Finland is getting record number of Chinese tourists.
Same probably goes for much of Europe, but good news anyway, in several ways.
