Interesting wikipedia articles and other links
At times (particularly back when I worked and had better internet to use) I've surfed around wikipedia as it's pretty easy to bump into something interesting you've never heard of, or at least didn't bother to find out more about.
I'm starting this topic to randomly post links to history/science/sports/culture/whatever articles I thought interesting.

That place was featured in the documentary series about how the unpopulated earth would look after various numbers of years. That was used as an example of what happens when people no longer use and maintain a large, previously populated, place.
