Re: F1 2014

Here's answers to some of those speculations:

- Button quits!
- McLaren takes Alonso and keeps Magnussen (not official, but very certain info)
- Caterham and Marussia (as Manor) have entered for season 2015; not that it means really anything
- Forza Rossa hasn't entered and has been real quiet. I would expect they'll buy a team, start 2016 or can't find the money at all
- Sauber has announced next year drivers: Ericsson and Felipe Nasr (Brazilian from GP2)

Now, aside the possibly continuing Caterham and Marussia the only remaining open driver seats are one on Lotus (Grosjean is unconfirmed, but should continue) and Toro Rosso (likely Vergne continues or they bring in Carlos Sainz Jr.)

Edit: Not so fast. Button doesn't confirm this information, reported as fact by pretty trustworthy sources. But that might be just button negotiating a better deal for where ever he'll drive next year.

Virgin/Marussia/Manor is done. Game Over. The team is finished, won't be competing again.

With two rookies coming in (Verstappen & Nasr), that mean four current drivers will be out of F1 next year, six if Caterham goes down and Forza Rossa won't enter.
Unless there'll be third cars...
(No! No! Anything but that emoticon)

Re: F1 2014

Drivers for season 2015 have been named earlier than most years. We practically know all other drivers except ones for Caterham - and it's still uncertain if the team can compete.
Though if Caterham is out, there's only 9 teams/18 cars which is against the Concorde Agreement and could result to third cars...

With (at least) one team out and (so far) three rookies in, at least 5 this season drivers are out of F1: Button, Gutierrez, Sutil, Vergne, Chilton, Kobayashi and Bianchi (still in very bad shape, but has better prognosis than Schumi) are without job, plus Lotterer and Stevens who drove one GP on Cateham.

And the final (?) huge news of the F1 year:

Button continues at McLaren 2015!
Magnussen is out, becoming test/spare driver.
