Discrimination against men
I was going to post this in the rant thread but I'd like to discuss it particularly:
I've suddenly become aware of how men are discriminated against for doing things that women get away with. In adverts, in the work environment, everywhere. There's an ad for Lays chips, a female police officer flirts with a man eating the chips and then slaps him on the behind. If a man did that, he'd get into serious trouble. If a woman comments on a man's appearance, she's being supportive and helpful. If a man does it, he's a sex offender.
Not only that, everyone is far more tolerant of women commenting about each other's appearance without accusing them of having designs on their friends. If a man makes a comment about another man having a "nice bum" or that he would go for him if he was "gay," it's deemed inappropriate for general audiences, and put on with an age-appropriate warning.
I think it's time that men starting campaigning for the discrimination to stop.

Re: Discrimination against men
Yeah well, which way would you go; let men too do that or take it away from women?
The big issue (that is now seriously argued) here is army. Almost compulsory for men, absolutely volunteer for women. 75% of men have to spend 6 months in military (or choose to be in the 20% who do 13 months of "civil service" - lousy jobs with minimum wage), while the 1-2% of women who absolutely want to go to army can now do so in the name of "equality".

Re:
That's what I'm talking about.
On the whether I want me to be able to do it, or take it away from women. I'd like to see it in context. Men should be able to say "you look good in that outfit" to a woman who is not a relative or an emotional partner, and not be accused of being a predator. Then I'd like women to be told off for flirting and making sexual innuendoes and being allowed to get away with them. If find that Lays advert to be extremely sexist. The question is, would a women sue a man for saying the same thing she's just said about him? If the answer is yes, then she shouldn't be saying it about him.

Re:
I agree Morwen. I'm sick of women slapping my bum and looking at me lustfully whilst if I as much as give women a second look I'm classed as a perv.
Something needs to be done about this.
