Since star system matter generally settles into disc form, I would imagine this star has more or less usual planet setup so it makes sense gravity of those and asteroids etc pulls nova debris to disc too.

I don't think space travel for general use will happen in my lifetime.

I think I'll live to see a man set foot on Mars. That person may not make it back to earth but I'm pretty confident that we can get someone to mars before I kick the bucket. As Schwarzenegger said, "Get your ass to Mars!"

I think they'll do a flight to/around Mars without landing first. A test that could also leave equipment there for the landing.

Pity here's not much elsewhere to go. You could fly around Venus. Or do a test trip around Sun on Earth's orbit.

Re: Astronomy News

For staff development day at my work, I signed up for a course on Scientific Ballooning From the Antarctic. It was super cool and all about what happens with telescoping from helium balloons in the Antarctic. They send up these helium balloons with scientific telescopes into the upper atmosphere so to get better shots and video from high up above. It was interesting to see the whole flight from Boston to L.A. to Syndey Australia to New Zealand to Antartica. The flights from NZ to Antartica are usually from either US or New Zealand Millitary planes and arrive in Antartica within 5 hours. They then send up helium filled balloons into the upper atmosphere with attachments to space telescopes that peer into the outer spaces of the universes. Some cool stuff a happenin' here.

We have a new third closest neighbor!

Third closest star system and it took this long to find. Makes you wonder what's out there...
