Re: My poetry

This is one of my earliest writing, long before I tried anything I would've called poetry.
Instead, this was intended as song lyrics... feel free to make a tune for it.

Empty Times

I search for peace,
I search excitement.
I've got too little of both.
Yet peace I will get
By staying in bed
And excitement by not.

Another empty day,
No reason to get
Out of my bed.
The world's the same anyway.

I've got nothing to do,
I've got no-one to see.
Just waiting in wonderful hell
To see if today
World has a new way
To silently ring my bell.

Another empty week,
No reason to get
Out of my bed.
Nothing for me to seek.

I read the papers,
I watch the news,
Take a look through window.
While a new day came
World stayed the same
I still have no place to go.

Another empty month,
No reason to get
Out of my bed.
All behind, nothing in front.

My day is empty,
My mind as well.
So always my life goes on.
And if you ask me,
my answer will be:
So it shall do for too long.

Another empty year,
No reason to get
Out of my bed.
Future is still unclear.

Re: My poetry

Some of my mythology inspired poetry.

Mammon

Lowest in Heaven, view to his feet
admired shining of golden street
even before into darkness fell
driven from light, thrown to Hell

Once was among blessed, divine indeed
in evil was bending angel of greed
joined others against God to rebel
to be cast from Heaven down to Hell

Bitter, not despaired, full of desires
his mind will burn like sulphuric fires
among which those now fallen dwell
in depths of abyss, bottom of Hell

Dreams to other damned he'll confer
of without God's laws empire nether
a place to freely in evil revel
the banished ones would build in Hell

Now goes out on Lucifer's call
to hunt human souls, corrupt them all
to bring them down, from good expel
make them join demons in eternal Hell

The Furies

Three are one and one is three,
murder thy blood and they kill thee.
Known on many names: the Erinnyes,
the avenging Furies, the Eumenides.

Called out by vengeful prayer
to go after kinsman's slayer.
His crime to him his life will cost
or even more; soul's reason lost.

Alecto, Megaera, Tisiphone,
no one can help, you face them 'lone.
With merciless whips will they
relentlessly hunt down their prey.

Never stop till scorpion-whip
offender's mind to pieces rip.
The Furies will the crook torment
to insanity or to his end.

Re: My poetry

Here it is, the very last piece of poetry from my archives. This was the first of my epic poems (mostly inspired by reading Bulfinch's Mythology). And one I'm most satisfied with.

Aeneas & Dido

Misty gray is ever the beach upon
which I am now left by Charon
though blood still runs my veins.
Here have I come with few banes
but seeing Dido in land of death
with pain takes away my breath.

Whose sorrow could ever be greater
than mine when I now behold her
whom I left on Jupiter's call
not knowing that her heart would fall
in despair, that precious life
would lose itself on knife.

Only shadow now is Dido fair,
untouchable as breath of air.
No more can hand, word neither
touch or move or reach her,
walker of the nether lands
who speechless, quiet stands.

Yet I have my quest to fulfil
same that caused Dido's fate ill.
To found a state for my people
who're destined to stand noble;
for this I must leave the queen
whose end forever haunts my dream.
