Re: Poems

I have to say I've always felt that a bit disturbing. Usually only dictatorships and such teach patriotism in schools like that.
Then again in here any too open nationalism is looked disapprovingly.

Echt, this is getting a bit deep, for this arts area. Feel free to start new topics at discussions to share any thoughts, but let's try to keep rest of board lighter.

Kaunisto, art is deep to me. I like discussing how and why my head got so messed up. I've been at concerts where the singer gets booed for giving a little background on the song but to me that's an important part of the show. I may not be an artist but it's difficult for me to see what I did wrong here.

Not really wrong, it's OK to give background.
This was just starting to drift from the poem and its subjects to more general commentary that IMO fits better in Discussions.

Re: Poems

I think fairytales should be taught to kids as the tales are so cool and interesting even if they are false tall tales, they still instill imagination and creativity which I think is also important. Fairy tales are something that you remember even after many years. Why is it that the brain remembers these things? Perhaps they have some importance or at least value. I myself do not have very many childhood books, but the ones I do are mostly fairytales. And I actually read them from time to time. They are fun. I think having fun is important regardless of how old one may be.

I don't remember "believing" it Santa or such, the separation of stories and reality has been clear to me as far as I have memories.

Except I was awfully disappointed to realize the Gerbil Incident wasn't real.

I would much rather believe that Santa was real than a gerbil went up someones ass. Eww! That's just gross.

psycho woman blues

got me a psycho woman
not the first i ever had
yeah i got me a psycho woman
and i tried so hard to get away
don't know what keeps me coming back
maybe cuz they all seem psycho today
a mean mean mean woman
as sadistic as one could be
lord i got me a psycho woman
she's malicious don't you see
can't get her to take her meds
yet her mind is altered all the time
she really really loves her vodka
smokes blunts, snorts what's around
drinks from the time she wakes up
sleeps wherever she hits the ground
i tell you she's delusional
well now who am i to say
oh lord she's a psycho woman
on the internet night and day
but i love that crazy woman
and i need her can't you see
judge please lift the restraining order
so my baby can come home to me
