Re: We're fighting issues with the house, every week. Mostly to do with water. Just when I think one issue has been resolved, another pops up.
We let the drip in the kitchen continue because it wasn't too bad, and we're planning a refurb next year. But then yesterday the drip filled up a litre jug in 10 minutes. So we went out to buy a new fitting. My son said he could install it, and made the effort to do that. However, the pipes going into the wall flummoxed him because he couldn't undo them to fit the new ones. After a whole lot of water in the house, we managed to get it to hold over for a night. This morning the plumbers came to put in a beautiful new tap fitting. Now I have to work on getting the kitchen sorted out to fit the taps.
Re: Plumbing issues are the pits Morwen. Older pipes don't always fir the new taps.
My computer chair was delivered this morning. I've been using a lawn chair with several cushions since May. I finally found a computer chair on sale. Half price actually so I bought it.
Re: We've never changed the sizes of pipes or how they attach. So when the plumbers came to fit a 21st century tap to mid-20th century plumbing it worked perfectly. I was so pleased. Now I'm going to change the one in the bathroom as well.
Yesterday was a major laundry day. I washed two large loads, dried it all in the sun, then spent an hour chatting to my sister on the phone while I did the ironing. It felt good to pack it all away, leaving the cupboards looking neat and tidy. today I'm taking the day off to just sit and do nothing.
Re: Hello, goodbye and what are you doing today... Went to library, didn't get what I was thinking, but took something else.
Couple comics and Trainspotting 2 and Thor: Ragnarok. (I haven't seen couple previous MCU films but what the heck.)
They'd really have good selection of PS3/PS4/X360/XOne/Wii/WiiU games, but hardly anything for PC or ancient consoles that I could use.
Re: My husband decided I needed a new toy to show his appreciation for how I've dealt with our move, and the issues around it. So yesterday I got one of these:
I've always wanted one, but could never afford it, so I've managed with separate machines for every function, and simple hand-held mixers. This is lovely, everything I've always wanted.
Re: Hello, goodbye and what are you doing today... Heh, reminds me of Finnish Christmas calendar series "The Joulukalenteri". (In the story elves have long ago been chased out from Finland - and therefore speak half English - but now must return to find an ancient object.)
All through the December/series the farmer's wife tries to tell him how wonderful a device not unlike yours would be, but he keeps telling her they can't afford one - but of course in the end gets her one for Christmas.
Re: I'm finally allowed to reveal the news I've known for weeks. We're expecting a new grandchild in February. My granddaughter is getting a sibling. Very exciting. This is grandchild number 4.
