It's a shame that the service you received was so horrible though. From past experience with some restaurants vegetarians are treated as a burden, as if serving a non-meat based meal is a hassle. I have also found that in this country the vegetarian menu is often the same for different restaurants. They lack ideas.

A big day for me. It was my first driving lesson. It wasn't too bad given that I was a nervous wreck, I only managed to stall the car twice. He praised me on my gear changing though.

Excellent Leo. I'm sure you'll get there very quickly. Are your parents going to buy a car for you?

Well done Leo - freedom and independence round the corner for you! I couldn't survive without being able to drive - although in England the public transport actually exists and works, whereas here we don't have any public transport to speak of .... we used to, but not any more. We can't just hop on a bus or a train to go to town or to the next village. Sad.

I love Wednesdays! Usually it's my "mid-week lie in longer day" and I enjoy that, especially in winter. Having a lazy morning after doing the usual chores, and this afternoon will be playing cards and hopefully watching some brilliant tennis from Wimbledon.

We did the shops this morning. I went looking for another external hard drive, but I refuse to pay R1,000 for a 1Tb. I'll wait until someone has a "special" deal. I did see a lovely bluetooth keyboard for the iPad that I must just buy to use with the Mac mini as well. It doesn't need a keyboard for what I use it for, so keeping one mounted and ready to use is a bit of a waste. I can just activate the bluetooth when I want to use it so it doesn't pick up keystrokes when I use it with the iPad. I think I'll buy it.

One that connects wirelessly to the device via bluetooth rather than via a cable. You use it the way you connect your phone wirelessly to your computer.

If only I could connect phone to my computer...
For now that means to me using dial-up.

You need to get at least a bluetooth phone and computer Kaunisto. If you lived near me, I'd arrange something for you. emoticon

Having a frustrating day today. First, my internet bombed out and I had to call in the guys to sort it out - the power supply decided to give up the ghost and so he had to install another one. Then my dear man pushed off to Maritzburg to collect his new glasses and disappeared for something like four hours - he had nothing else to see to down there and I was worried when he didn't come back after a reasonable time. Geez it's like living with a teenager again sometimes! Couldn't get anything but voicemail on his cell phone which made me so angry - why have a wretched phone if you don't turn the darned thing on?! He strolled in a few minutes ago claiming that he had turned the phone on but didn't put in the code. Duh. Go figure. Frankly I don't understand why he turns it off - what's the point? Turns out he went wandering about all over Maritzburg doing things he didn't need to do anyway. So the atmosphere here is a ittle icy at the moment ... I was about to go out and just disappear myself for a few hours, to see how he felt about it if the boot was on the other foot, but he came in the door just as I was picking up my car keys lol!

All I ask is a little consideration and that he maybe uses his noggin to think that I might need to get hold of him for some reason but no, Men are definitely from Mars.

Just do it the next time you go out. I know what you mean I get the same way when I need himself and he doesn't hear the phone ringing. The damn thing is on his waist, he should be able to feel it vibrating. I think it's just inconsideration that they expect us to explain what we're doing all the time and to stop what we're doing when they say they want us to do something else, but that doesn't apply to them.

I spent the morning in the kitchen, cooking, baking sorting out fridges etc, he went off to visit Louis's family. Why, I have no idea. There's no reason for him to spend the time he used to spend with her dad, visiting her and helping her with her stuff while I slave away in the house. So I left a huge mess in the kitchen, after I'd burnt my fingers on the oven this morning. When he walked in the door, I told him to clean up. I dried, and he washed all the pots. I'm going to do that now, call him to do stuff I don't want to do.
