Government accused of 'social engineering' over plan to make elderly move out of their homes
The Government has been accused of "outrageous social engineering" after a key adviser to David Cameron suggested that elderly people should be encouraged to go back to work and move into smaller homes.
This lot have no shame - get them out

Re:
Isn't that just disgusting?
The "elderly" of today are the people who were born during and just after WWII, they've been through all the drama of social change over the past 50 years and survived them. They made the UK into the powerhouse it was in the recent past. Now they're denied comfort in their declining years.
Things go around. One day he'll be an old man, and his kids will refuse to have him live with them, and he'll be out on his own arse. What a horrible little man he is.

Re:
This is typical - wanting people to work until they drop because the powers that be think it's good for them - what rubbish!
I wish the "elderly" would be given credit for having some grey cells. Just because you happen to be of retirement age doesn't mean you are no longer capable of deciding what the right thing is for you personally, and everyone is different. It has bugger all to do with the government if people choose to live in their own homes, mansions or not, nor does the number of TVs people have have anything to do with the government. People have worked hard, pay their taxes, and particularly in the UK they've earned their pensions and they're entitled to stay where they choose to stay as long as they can afford to do so.
As for so many being lonely - sure, maybe they are, but moving them into smaller houses and making them go out to work isn't going to solve that if it hasn't been solved by the individuals already - they have choices, and can socialize and join in all the activities available for retirees should they so desire.
They're trying to lump everyone together and compartmentalize people into batches - shocking!

The problems come from dimishing generations, few have to take care of many.
It's really your fault for not making more babies.

And how many babies have you made Kaunisto?!!!
Here the few are used to taking care of the many, we've done it for years and will have no option but to continue to do so whilst the few decrease, and the many continue to increase faster than rabbits breed. Methinks there are more than enough children here ...
Durban Beach, New Year's Day 2012
69 children were left behind, by the end of the week, 31 still had not found their parents. And all parents/adults had gone home.
9 bodies washed up in the week after New Year. None were ever reported missing, and none have yet been identified.
The beach was so full of defecation... that they had to plough it in to the beach rather than pick it all up.

As rotten as this is (just how out of touch are the Bullingdon club Tories?) they've done a good job of convincing the public to agree with their cuts affecting the vulnerable in society. The elderly and disabled are now seen as parasites to some.

Re:
There are far too many people on earth as it is. People need to have to apply to have kids and then not have more than two. After two, compulsory sterilizing. It sounds like eugenics, but we do it do pets, why should humans get special treatment. THey mucked up the planet, they should bloody fix the problem.
We're just apes who know how to do clever stuff nothing special about us except our capacity to mess up the place.

Re:
I knew it would be like this with the Tories. They have whipped up so much hysteria about benefits that they have now got much of the nation convinced that everyone that is unemployed or walks with a walking stick or are in a wheelchair or are on low pay are quite capable of doing a job and they are just nothing but benefit scroungers.
Forget the fact that there are hardly any jobs and there are almost 3 million people unemployed - that's irrelevant in their eyes. They're just using the collapse of the global banking system as a cover for what they also wanted to do and that is reduce or privatise public services and reduce the pensions of public sector workers who have done nothing wrong other than being a public sector worker.
It's disgusting and they should be going after all those engaging in tax evasion and avoidance which accounts for billions more than benefit fraud.
No wonder they're commonly know as the 'nasty party'.
