Re:

One of my favourite TV programmes simply disappeared for two weeks, right in the midst of the good part of the series. Found out today that the reason for this was English Football. Ridiculous! Surely there are enough sports channels to handle that????

Re: The Rant thread

TV pixelates, particularly the channels I'd watch most, and PC crashes and didn't start for few tries. Nothing works!!

Re: People-proof containers

Ranting today about the fact that so many containers, whether they be medicine/pill "tubes" or plastic bottles of laundry detergent, stain remover, tile cleaner etc - or even lids on jars from the pantry - are virtually impossible to open. I have very little strength in my wrists/hands and often, even with trying all the recommended tips such as holding the jar under hot water, tapping the lid, using one of those leather strap type openers (which requires two people anyway), I'm left cursing.

Why?????

I have a handle thingy that twists them off for me. They need to be tight to create a vacuum to preserve the food, unfortunately.

Nothing works all the time for me .... have tried everything! Main problem is no strength in my hands or wrists.

Re: The Rant thread

Darn mouse acting up... it sometimes takes a roll movement when I press button. Earlier it did it with right button, but now as I was playing a shooter, it started doing it with left. So, when I'm trying to shoot it changes weapon - which in this game is particularly troublesome.

It's been a good mouse otherwise, hate to give it up. Microsoft's; I don't like many of their products, but they've always made good mouses. Mice. Which is it, I've never figured out?

I'd like them to be mouses, but it seems the standard is mice. Although my spell-checker recognises mouses, so I suppose either is OK.

I'm in too good a mood to rant at the moment. Small moans, and whines but I have a new computer and a lovely new camera, so what's to complain about?

Re: The Rant thread

What bugs me today are games(/movies/comics/books/etc.) that end in cliffhanger.
During last year I've played at least 5 games - and those are full-size 10 hours plus games - that end with nasty cliffhanger; in 3 of those the main villain escapes in end. And of those 5, none have actually gotten a sequel (one might yet happen, 10 years later).

An open ending is OK.
If you're sure there'll be a sequel, cliffhanger is acceptable.
But mostly everything should have a proper ending so you can fully enjoy without a sequel (that may never come) - without the game going "ha ha, you killed 482 people, but not the one you were actually after!"
