I hear you ... it seems ridiculous that they show trash like the programmes you mention rather than the good stuff - doesn't make sense (except to the BBC for some inexplicable reason!)

Maybe when you're at Uni there will be a nearby Sports Bar with big screens where you could go along with your mates and watch - I certainly hope so! Will you be going home most weekends Leo?

Time for a driver's licence for you and maybe a little car to travel to and fro? Ideal to do the test now maybe I would think, before you get swamped with course work, even if you don't necessarily use it for much driving until you can get sorted with wheels.

I won't be going home every weekend (if at all any weekend) as it would be too far away for that.

I haven't had any driving lessons so a test is not on the cards for a while...

Bernie's shooting his mouth again, on how he - and he alone - decides which, when and how many races there'll be next year. And if teams keep saying there can't be 21 in a season, he can drop Monaco; that'll shut them up.

They'll have fun writing next Concorde...

Both Indian drivers Chandhok and Karthikeyan will likely participate the first Indian GP next month. That's nice, even though with Lotus and Hispania aren't exactly top cars.

In season 2012:

- (Lotus) Renault will become Lotus
- (Team) Lotus will become Caterham
- Williams switches Cosworth engine to Renault, leaving Cosworth to a bad situation of having only the bottom teams Virgin and Hispania for customers

Re: F1 2011

Rumor has it New Jersey GP has ten year contract starting 2013. With Texas GP coming next season, it seems F1 is making a big attack to finally take USA, the final frontier.
Of course that's (at least economically) good for the sport, but makes me wonder what races are out of calender. Particularly as there's Russian GP in near future too.
Hopefully we'll get rid of Valencia, but there'll be some sadder losses too. Likely Australia, I'm afraid.

Lots of talk about Räikkönen coming back. That's something to speculate for next couple months.

If Australia goes I will really lose my rag with Bernie and the rest of the men at the top. That would be another traditional (I class any race as traditional if it was there when I first started watching F1 in 1997). It's all very well and good taking the sport to new frontiers, but the tracks often lack the character that's present in the older courses.

I too would love to see Valencia go (worst track on the calendar), but it has a contract until 2017! I'd personally like to see the European Grand Prix travel across Europe (i.e. have it in France one year and Austria the next).

I see there are doubts over the Texas, Korean and Bahrain races for 2012, maybe they would be the victims (well Bahrain and Korea).

A notable fact about team points: except for Williams (that had worst season ever) all other 11 teams finish in points exactly same as last season. The order of team hasn't changed except by Williams falling from 6th to 9th place.

I think this shows current rules - while saving money - limit development too much and make it near-impossible to compete with teams already ahead of you.
And I'm afraid thing don't change much next season.

KIMI IS BACK!

It's official, Räikkönen drives Lotus (current Renault) next year.

Now all we need is Bottas in Williams...

I'm pleased, Kimi is a good driver, although I can't see him doing any better than battling along with the midfield.
