These are rough times for magazines. Latest victim is Suosikki, our largest and oldest music/youth mag, founded 1961.
Few are the people who never had some Suosikki poster on their wall, be it Beatles, Metallica, Samantha Fox or Take That.

Jussi Vares is Finland's favorite private detective, featured in books by Reijo Mäki and now in total of eight movies. First movies were made 2004 and 2007 and those I've seen. Separate from those, with (almost) completely different cast, a series of six movies came out 2011 and 2012 - a unique project in Finnish movie history. The final of those premiered last week.
The first two movies are much like Guy Ritchie's Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Which means I enjoyed them very much.
The six new movies I haven't seen, but they appear somewhat more serious and realistic... or at least try to. IMO that makes them corny and boring and critics seem to agree.

Again the Day of Aleksis Kivi and Finnish literature (see previous page of topic).

I still can't find an English download for you, but here's a review of "Seven Brothers".

Every year post has a voting for Most Beautiful Stamp of Year. This year we have few interesting candidates:
- "crazy Finns" set, honoring such activities as wifecarrying, swamp football, airguitar world championships and sitting in anthill
- Actors' Union 100th anniversary series which includes a really stupid and annoying skit character
- Angry Birds
- best of all... actual stamp set called "most beautiful outhouses"

]see here all our stamps of 2013

It's time ot the annual ]Via Crucis in Helsinki. Some years there've been quite artistic versions, but I guess this time was pretty traditional.

One notable thing for us gamers was that this year Jesus is Ilkka Villi, known for lead role in Alan Wake series.
