The movie? I've never actually watched it, I get bored with Coen brothers movies.
Or the TV series?

Walking Dead for me tonight.

I'm loving the Apple TV. Yesterday while himself was away playing bowls, I sat with my computer on my lap, while music played from there on the tv, with the perfect sound. It was wonderful. Today he's back, and he's watching Star Trek Discovery on Netflix, and something else on Amazon Prime.

Stardust, with Michelle Pfeiffer as a WITCH. Very imaginative little fantasy film with some dark humour.

I have to say Stardust was my least favorite of the Neil Gaiman books I've read (maybe because he reused so many things from his comics) and a movie is never as good as the book...

I watched a couple of episodes of the Romanoffs. What rubbish. It was really terrible. Just can't imagine the makers of Mad Men put themselves into this terrible show.

I see Bodyguard has had good reviews I might watch that.

Doctor Who and Throne of Blood, Kurosawa's samurai version of Macbeth.

Re: What have you been watching this evening?

I just watched Blade Runner 2049 and... I'm not really disappointed, because it's by no means bad and there was really no way it could've matched the original. But I'm a bit sad on what it is and what it isn't.
I would've preferred a somewhat separate story and not such a direct sequel. Some of the greatness of the original film is in its open ending and that is spoiled by revelation of how the story continued.
BR 2049 is too complicated with all its mysteries and conspiracies. Generally I might like that in a movie, but part of Blade Runner's beauty was in the simple core story: he hunts down a couple targets. It was about few people's lives (even if couple of them were very significant). 2049 speculates on effects the characters may have on future of whole mankind or least to say all replicants.
It started off very well, but on later half too many things went wrong, not making sense or being unnecessary. And while I do like this too having open ending, certain events were ignored and their consequences should've been shown somehow.
And kind of worst thing is that it is not good to end here, 2049 has too much demand for a third film.

All that said, I'm not too sorry the director Villeneuve is making new version of Dune (which, if you've forgotten and can't tell by my avatar, is my favorite book).

I got fed up with The Man in the High Castle. It's just some nonsense with an alternate universe, like that other TV show I gave up on Fringe.

I'm watching the Marvellous Mrs Maisel. Brilliant comedy. Normally I don't like female comediennes but this is really good.
