Re: What have you been watching this evening?

Moving to hundreds/thousands years to future would've let keep dozens of books, comics and games within canon, instead of another "reboot" wiping those out. And it would've been kind of satisfying that at VI they had their happy ending, now things ending pretty bad for everybody.

I think Godfather III is bit underrated. Not equal to two great classics, but still a good movie.

Watched it last night. I agree. I did find it a little frustrating that it didn't have subtitles in the version I watched, so I could understand the Italian dialogue.

I have now watched Alien III. I hear it split the fanbase, but I thought it was quite good.

I put Alien 2, 3 and 4 about even.

Finally got around watching the DVDs I bought earlier: Ghibli films Whisper of the Heart and Arrietty and the infamous Howard the Duck

I'm really incorrigible when it comes to game of thrones.

I'm watching the entire series again. Finished season one in two evenings.

I've put James Bond on hold a little, it's too silly for my current mood. Except I want to say, it improved with For Your Eyes Only. In view of current anti-misogny, Sean Connery really sucked at being James Bond, in fact he sucks as an actor.

Ooh, can't agree there, he's still my favorite Bond. At most I'd say Connery only fits to a limited type of roles.
Though a quick look at filmography shows that his several great films overshadow the fact that he did even more bad ones.

I say I won't watch the show, but then I do. Today's show was good. There were several moments I really liked. But then I'm an old woman, and seeing all the older women... OMG Rita Moreno is 85. She looks 55. She's amazing.

I had a bad film night with friends on Saturday. Suburban Sasquatch and Who Killed Captain Alex? were the treats. The latter is Uganda's first action movie and deserves some credit for its earnesty. The former, not so much, it was bad, but thankfully in a funny way. The film takes some seeing to believe it. Check this scene out for example:

Yes, that roar is the noise what the sasquatch makes.

LOL.

Have you seen Black Panther? I can't wait to see that when we get to Jo'burg in just over two weeks. I've been waiting for that, but without a reliable car to go to the mall, we don't get to go anywhere.
