I watch a lot of video on demand. Catching up on old shows I've missed, and am now enjoying, like Scandal, Billions, I finally watched all of Mad Men, and the British cop shows, lots of those. I started watching Call the Midwife, then got a little bored with women giving birth in hard circumstances.
I need an ongoing story to stay interested, not just a week-by-week repetition of the same story.
I miss the show about the Queen, I wish they'd hurry up with season two and the one about Victoria.
Have you seen Wolf Hall? I may have mentioned it before, but that is a brilliant British drama on Thomas Cromwell, based on the novel by Hilary Mantel. It's realistic in its portrayal of the times and is very gripping.
Some historians have criticised it for its sympathetic portrayal of Cromwell, but Mantel has stated that it's just an interpretation. And given that some historical intrpretations of Cromwell have been biased negatively by th Catholic Church I don't think this will damage people's historical understandings greatly. Anyone who bases their interpretations on historical fiction alone would not be taken seriously in the field.

Re: What have you been watching this evening?
Mad Max: Fury Road
It's OK, but there was no reason for this film to be Mad Max. Despite the obvious similarities, you could've just changed main character name and sold this as unrelated movie.
This was a 4 star movie, but only 3 star Mad Max.
