Re:
Enjoy your new kitchen appliance Morwen and how exciting about the new grand child. Congratulations.
I saw an area rug that I wanted on sale. Only problem is you can't order it over the phone and have to go to the store. Well the store is in another city from where I am and I have no car. The other place that has the same area rug will price match but then charge me for delivery so I am not saving anything.

Re:
Have been MIA for a while I know - apologies. Dealing with all kinds of issues including the recent death of a very dear friend's d-i-l aged 33 from bone cancer. Trying to be there for them all is time consuming but I love them dearly and wouldn't have it any other way. Also have had plastic surgery on my face to remove "lesions" (stitches out tomorrow) and otherwise busy with lots of stuff.
Also planning holidays .... still nothing definite.

Re:
So sorry about your friend's relative Petal. It's always sad when loved ones die, but at that age!
Sending you hugs.
I'm entertaining my granddaughter this week so I'm very busy with baking and chocolate making.

I have been offered a place for a PhD at Lancaster University, commencing in October. It still hasn't sunk in. Better get preparing!
Sorry to hear that MO, I'm sure you'll be there for them as a good friend.

Re:
Here's a strange thing. Yesterday I was searching for some family connections for my kids, when I came across a death notice for the man who was my first boyfriend. We were together for six years, and even engaged and planning a wedding when we agreed it wouldn't work. I met up with him again in 1985 when my husband died, and again we talked about how we really got on, but would never be able to live together. Then I found out he died 10 years ago. It was a bit of a shock but I'm detached after more than 30 years since we were last in touch.

Re: Hello, goodbye and what are you doing today...
Jackdaws are starting to do their Hitchcock thing again, yesterday saw about 200 birds in two neat rows on roof edges.
Today went to library, just comics and films once again.

Re:
We've been feeding the birds in our garden, so now we have flocks of them in the trees around us. It's amazing in the heart of Africa's largest city, to hear birdsong while you sit outside doing what it is you do with your computer. What a lovely sound!
My dog decided to have a go at the pool leaf cleaner today. It was making a noise so he barked at it. He's not the brightest crayon in the box.
