Strange/crazy/dangerous things found by airport security

I'm sure we've all been inside our local airport, either welcoming or saying goodbye to visiting friends and family or to jump on a plane and go somewhere ourselves. Every so often, airport security find in peoples' luggage things that the passengers know they shouldn't have. Sometimes, passengers try to hide things on or even inside their bodies. For example, not sure what year it was, but a woman arriving in Melbourne, Australia, on a flight from Singapore was found to be wearing a specially-designed apron containing bags filled with no less than 50 tropical fish.

What are some of the strange, crazy or dangerous things that airport security have found hidden in luggage at your local airport?

Not airport but customs:

I've heard of plenty of cases involving people trying to smuggle live animals. Take, for instance, the man who was caught with pigeons strapped to his legs and a pair of baby Pygmy Monkeys in his underpants. Or the German couple who went on holiday to South America then tried to bring home 200 rare Tarantulas.

Probably the worst one I've heard of happened in 2010 at Bangkok International Airport. A Thai woman trying to board a flight to Iran attracted the attention of Customs officers due to her oversized suitcase. When the officers finally got the chance to investigate the luggage, they got one hell of a surprise: nestled among the clothes and soft toys was a heavily-sedated 2-month-old tiger cub. At first, the woman denied the bag was hers, but eventually admitted that, had she not be caught, she would have sold the cub as a pet on the Iranian Black Market. Instead, the woman went to prison for a few years. The little tiger was sent to a wildlife park.

And me. It really is shocking ... and. in particular parts of the world, animal cruelty is not only encouraged but handsomely rewarded.

Here there are still idiots who think they won't be caught trying to smuggle in hundreds of kilos of banned substances - we see cases on the news regularly. Also there are those who try to smuggle out various protected species such as perlemoen and rhino horn etc.

Must admit I do think the customs laws could be relaxed a little when it comes to not being able to carry more than 100ml of liquid as hand luggage.

When I'm watching the Border Security shows on TV, one thing that makes me laugh is how many people get caught trying to bring large amounts of undeclared food into Australia. They don't seem to understand that bringing items like fruit or seeds into the country can cause major problems. I've noticed that most of passengers trying to smuggle large amounts of food are Asians, who believe that because the food they have is home-made, they can bring it into the country. Do these people not realise you can buy food in Australia?

Possibly they're not sure they can get the exact food they prefer to eat. I travel with almond milk because I don't drink dairy. When I have coffee on the road, I have my own container of milk that I use. If I was flying, because of the restrictions now, I'd just do what I do when I visit, drink water, or juice.

But I can understand that people who are going to a culture they don't understand worry they won't get their food preferences catered for, and if they are, that they'll be made with local taste in mind. Think middle eastern food made with ghee, and that being replaced with butter, or margarine, or sunflower/olive oil. It doesn't taste the same to a discerning palate.

The problem with bringing food into the country is that it may be carrying bacteria or seeds that could seriously harm our environment.
